Job Description

The Turing Scheme is a UK-wide programme that provides funding for international placements across the world. Successful candidates get opportunities to develop skills, boost confidence levels, and improve employability prospects. Of course, travelling and discovering new places and cultures are an added bonus.

No matter which career you want to pursue, we are making sure you will get invaluable experience. For all placements, we require previous experience or a qualification in the chosen sector. Whilst participants will work within a team, supervised by a company mentor, and it is essential that a host company can see that you already have some skills to offer them from your application.

The Departure date to Thailand is the 21st of May and the return date is the 19th August 2023.
 

Job tasks
 

In your role, you will have the opportunity to develop as a teacher of English and join a team of English teachers to teach levels A2 to C1, and your responsibilities could include:

  • Create materials
  • Teach classes - both face-to-face and online
  • Marking
  • Give didactic feedback to students
  • Assessing students
  • Shadow and observe teachers
  • Plan lessons and deliver learning materials and activities;
  • Teach support classes;
  • Attending teachers meetings;
  • Assist with complementary tasks, such as level testing for new students or as a substitute teacher role
  • Organise and take part in cultural activities, e.g. conversational café, workshops and festivals
  • Teach private lessons
  • Monitor and evaluate students

 

Eligibility Criteria:

You don't have to be a graduate to join the programme because if you can show experience or any relevant qualification in either of the sectors available – you're eligible.


 -Check if you are eligible-
 

  • You are aged 18+ on departure.
  • You have a permanent UK address and UK work rights.
  • You are not a national citizen of the destination country.
  • You have a valid UK (or EU) passport with more than six months validity after your return date.
  • You can commit to the entire programme duration, 90 days/13 weeks

You are educated to GCSE level or equivalent and have a minimum of 5 GCSEs
