Job Description

In this role, you will source professional placement opportunities for international university students, and help students apply and prepare for interviews.

Working with the Twin Employability Team, and alongside the universities’ own careers services, you will source placement opportunities for postgraduate university students and help them build their employability skills as they prepare for a year in industry as part of their course. You will help them with their role search and interview strategies so that they can be effective when they interview. You will also source suitable placement opportunities with companies and promote to companies the benefits of hiring home and international students.

Responsibilities

  • Use sales, business development, marketing techniques and networking to attract business from client companies.
  • Identify employer recruitment needs.
  • Visit and engage with employers to source placements and develop positive relationships.
  • Develop a good understanding of employers who offer university placement years, what they do, their work culture and their environment.
  • Advise employers on the benefits of hiring students, including international students.
  • Seek placement roles from employers and match students to companies.
  • Advise students on final application and interview techniques and hold mock interviews and application form reviews.
  • Prepare students with employability advice in the specific industries of pharmaceutical sciences and engineering.
  • Deliver career fairs and career-related workshops.
  • Research and write information on placement opportunities and produce marketing material, newsletters, and vacancy bulletins.
  • Engage with students to assess their job search process and brief them about the responsibilities, salary, and benefits of the job.
  • Attend career events to expand the employer's network and liaise with them to generate new opportunities.
  • Vet the placement companies by ensuring Health & Safety rules and regulations are met and company GDPR and Safeguarding policies are adhered to.

Education /Qualification 

  • Degree or equivalent
  • Information Advice and Guidance or Career advice experience

Skills and Experience

Essential 

  • A good working knowledge of graduate recruitment.
  • Experience in sales, marketing or recruitment.
  • Fully IT literate in using a range of Microsoft Office programs including 365 products and modern digital technologies, i.e. Microsoft Teams
  • Experience working in a target-driven environment.
  • Experience in delivering services to meet contractual and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently on own initiative.
  • Ability to prioritise your own workload and complete tasks without supervision.

Desirable, but not essential:

  • Knowledge of career coaching.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work positively and proactively to resolve problems.
  • Experience working with international students, preferably at the university level.

Additional Information

Salary: £30,000 per annum 

Location: Hybrid / Greenwich 

Contract:  Permanent - Full-Time

Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:30
