Job Description

As an experienced trainer in Functional Skills Maths & English, you will be required to deliver non-regulated and regulated qualifications/training to AEB government-funded learners or other provisions (eg. Multiply), where necessary. The delivery schedule is driven by our learner’s geographical locations; this role requires online delivery sessions for learners. The role requires an organised professional with the ability to adapt to new environments, needs to be resourceful and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare lessons efficiently to conduct them competently. 
  • Deliver a range of vocational qualifications (where appropriate), regulated and non-regulated maths and English courses, alongside employability skills and programmes, in accordance with the schedule.  
  • Set and assess learner work product daily, ensuring feedback is provided in a timely manner. 
  • Complete remedial actions identified by the IQA promptly to ensure learner achievement performance is included in the given month. 
  • Monitor the learners’ progress throughout the course, against the criteria.  
  • Create schemes of work and lesson plans in accordance with the qualification specifications.  
  • Prepare educational material to assist with stretching and challenging the learning.  
  • Abide by the copyright rules and always source material before photocopying. 
  • To provide accurate and timely formative and summative assessment and feedback to learners, and maintain assessment records, including tracking and reporting of learner progress in line with the organisation’s policy. 
  • Complete qualification administration to required standards for awarding body and verified by IQA/EQA  
  • Engaging with quality management processes to ensure that teaching maintains Outstanding OFSTED standards. 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of AEB contract delivery. 
  • Any other reasonable/appropriate duties. 
 
Education /Qualification 
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Teaching qualification (minimum L3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent) 
  • Assessing qualification (CAVA, TAQA or equivalent) 
Skills and Experience
Essential
  • Teaching qualification (minimum L3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent)
  • Minimum L3 qualification in English and Maths
  • Assessing qualification (CAVA, TAQA or equivalent)
Desirable, but not essential:
  • Knowledge of the barriers to employment for our demographic of learners, and you can assist them in overcoming barriers and building confidence.
Additional Information
Salary: £27,000-£28,000 per annum depending on experience
Location: Online  / remote
Contract:  Permanent - Full Time
Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:30
