As the Regional Skills Manager, you are responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of high-quality skills development programmes within the specified region. Your role ensures that entry to employment training, upskilling, and reskilling initiatives align with local and regional industry demands, wider government industrial requirements and strategic organisational goals.

Your position requires collaboration with employers and businesses, other educational providers, local authorities, the third sector and local communities to drive economic growth and talent development.

You are an experienced manager with a clear understanding of performance management, class ratios, gross profit margin management and quality management, who can deliver the best possible training quality and programmes to our learners, incorporating new methods of delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify regional skills gaps and workforce development needs.
  • Develop and implement programmes tailored to industry demands and aligned to contract KPIs.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure programmes align with national, regional and local skills policies and business needs. Monitoring trends in regional and local labour markets and emerging skill requirements.
  • Build relationships with employers, industry bodies, training providers, other government agencies and communities.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of training programmes and workforce initiatives, in collaboration with internal stakeholders, i.e. Apprenticeships, quality and curriculum, business development, partnerships, compliance and audit, etc
  • Ensure high-quality training, relevance, and accessibility for diverse workforce development needs.
  • Track programme performance, attendance, retention, achievement rates, progression and report on impact and outcomes.
  • Identify funding opportunities, achieve new business and manage budgets related to area.
Essential Skills & Experience:
 
  • Evidenced and demonstrable experience in the related field.
  • Experience working with government agencies, Ofsted, employers and business services groups.
  • Well-developed project management skills with the ability to deliver results within deadlines, to the required compliance and quality standards.
