Only available over the Summer?

If you love working with young people and are free over the Summer, we would love to hear from you. You could offer teaching at our Summer Centres for learners on short English language programmes. Or you could be a Team Leader on our ‘National Citizen Service’ - a 2 week residential programme for school children with  youth led activities and social action within the community.

Terri's journey

Terri had been out of work for a while after her children were born. She came to us as part of the Inspiring Families contract, which assisted participants with improving their circumstances and returning to work.

Having previously worked in pub management and cleaning, Terri didn’t think she had many transferrable skills, but her employment coach Amanda worked with her to find her strengths, and fix up her CV.

Terri was offered a two-week trial working for us as an HR administrator. She took part in several training courses, learned on the job, and despite having no prior experience in admin jobs, Terri was offered a position at the end of the trial.

Since then, Terri has been promoted first to HR Advisor, and then recently to HR Business Partner. She said that ‘I didn’t think I had the skills, and would have never put myself forward for an HR role, purely because I had no experience in that role, and didn’t know whether I was capable of doing it’.
