We are hiring a full time, permanent Centre Manager for our centre in Eastbourne. This role is available with live in accommodation (to be discussed at interview stage).
JOB TITLE: CENTRE MANAGER
LOCATION: EASTBOURNE
SALARY: £40000 ANNUALLY
TIMES: MON - FRI (9:00AM - 5:30PM)

Reporting to the International Director, Sales & Operations and working closely with the Head of Operations the role of Centre Manager will manage and oversee the smooth and effective running of Twin English Centre Eastbourne. This includes leading and coordinating all departments including operations, academic, accommodation (residential & homestay), building maintenance and repair, catering, finance, welfare and student management.
The Centre Manager is responsible for the overall student experience and administration of our English language programmes for both Adults and Juniors, seasonal programmes, summer centre, school group travel, school Integration programmes, work experience, and all other revenue possibilities for the centre.
The Centre Manager will be responsible for managing a team of people who are accountable for the overall running of the day-to-day activities of the centre from planning and preparation prior to arrival to programme delivery and customer service evaluation.
This role includes assisting with the development and administration of efficient procedures, maximising technology, and streaming processes in line with that of the group to ensure a high level of service while growing the team. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do as a business, as Centre Manager your key KPI is ensuring we provide every student with a positive experience at Twin and achieving high quality customer feedback.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in a similar role in the EFL industry / Experience in managing large teams and budgets in a multi-faceted leisure, educational, sports or hospitality business such as a General Manager, Centre Manager or Area Manager.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work, develop work plans and meet deadlines.
- Ideally experience working in a business catering for young people such as English as a Foreign Language residential centre, outward bounds centre, activity centre, youth hostel, holiday park, educational centre
- Proven experience of achieving key performance targets
- Experience of budgetary management
KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding.
- High level of Excel skills, knowledge of CLASS management system (or similar) and CRMS preferred.
- Self-starter, comfortable working both independently and as part of the wider team
- A level-headed person with the ability to understand the students’ and company’s needs, with a strong customer focus.
- Proven ability to organise and plan workload, manage conflicting priorities, and possess the flexibility to shift priorities accordingly.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Desirable - Educated to degree level, preferably in leadership and management
- Desirable - First Degree + CELTA or Trinity TESOL Certificate or PGCE in English/modern languages with ELT/TESOL subsidiary or equivalent + DELTA or equivalent.
- Desirable - Sound knowledge of health and safety.
