Job Description

Twin Group is an award-winning provider of education, travel, work experience, accommodation and employment services.  We offer a diverse number of life enhancing services to our clients and every member of our team is essential in achieving this.

We are looking for a Centre Manager to manage Twin’s 130 bed residential centre in the vibrant seaside resort of Eastbourne, East Sussex.  Compton Place is a Grade 2 listed building set in beautiful grounds.  We host a number of different clients on residentials, including international students studying English and National Citizen Service (NCS) residentials, as well as running an English language school for adults.  We are currently undergoing a period of growth and expanding our products to UK schools.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Ensure the effective running of the centre, to include leading and coordinating all departments including operations, academic, homestay and residential accommodation, building maintenance and repair, catering, finance, welfare and student management;
  • Develop exciting and engaging new products to expand our portfolio to new and existing customers;
  • Develop external accommodation links in the local area, to include homestay recruitment and other residential options;
  • Build successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve and expand provision within the Eastbourne area;
  • Preparation of monthly financial, client assessment and marketing reports;
  • To be involved in the promotion and marketing of the centre and its products;
  • To represent the centre and Twin Group when required at promotional events, trade fairs and seminars;
  • Provide content for website and ensure that the website is current and accurate;
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead;
  • People management responsibilities for all employees;
  • Overall responsibility for all UK legal and Home Office compliance;
  • Responsible for ensuring excellent British Council and ISI results;
  • Responsible for all aspects of health & safety, maintenance and first aid and ensuring that the centre and staff are compliant within UK health and safety legislation at all times.

Knowledge/Experience required

  • Educated to degree level, preferably in leadership and management
  • Desirable - First Degree + CELTA or Trinity TESOL Certificate or PGCE in English/modern languages with ELT/TESOL subsidiary or equivalent + DELTA or equivalent
  • Experience in managing large teams and budgets in a multi faceted leisure, educational, sports or hospitality business probably as a General Manager, Centre Manager or Area Manager
  • Ideally experience working in a business catering for young people such as English as a Foreign Language residential centre, outward bounds centre, activity centre, youth hostel, holiday park, educational centre
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety and safeguarding
  • Proven experience of achieving key performance targets
  • Experience of budgetary management

 

Additional Information

Salary: £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Location:  Eastbourne, 
East Sussex

Hours: (Full time) Monday- Friday 09:00am to 5:30pm
