Learner & Employer Engagement Team Leader
£35,000.00 per annum, experience-dependent
East or England & Kent

You will lead a proactive and driven team dedicated to engaging employers, learners, and referral partners to support the successful delivery of adult skills provision across the East of England and the Kent areas.

Your focus will be on achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to learner recruitment and engagement, primarily for programmes funded through the Adult Skills Fund, including Level 3 Free Courses for Jobs.

You will manage and support a team responsible for sourcing and enrolling eligible adults into a wide range of adult skills courses. Your leadership will play a vital role in driving team performance, strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, and creating meaningful opportunities that help individuals upskill, retrain, or progress in their careers.

This is a highly rewarding role that blends people leadership with a passion for lifelong learning and inclusive access to education, ensuring that learners are connected with opportunities that lead to positive and measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Provide daily leadership, motivation, and guidance to the team of Learner Engagement and Employer Engagement Consultants, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture that supports both individual and team success.
  • Set, monitor, and drive performance against monthly KPIs, ensuring the team meets targets related to learner & employer engagement, income generation, and progression into employment or further training.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal colleagues, employers, referral partners, and community organisations to enhance learner referral routes and engagement opportunities.
  • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings with team members to review performance, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development through tailored coaching and support.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to expand learner recruitment pipelines, ensuring activities align with Adult Skills Funding priorities, including Free Courses for Jobs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engagement approaches and promote the sharing of best practices across the team to drive continuous improvement.

Essential Key Skills & Qualifications:
 
  • Demonstrated success in leading, motivating, and managing a team to consistently achieve and exceed key performance targets.
  • Extensive experience engaging effectively with employers, learners, and partners, with a proven track record of converting initial interest into sustained business growth.
  • Comprehensive understanding of barriers faced by unemployed job seekers in securing employment.
  • In-depth knowledge of the skills sector, including the design and delivery of skills and personal development courses.
  • Proven capability in identifying and cultivating new business relationships, with successful conversion of learner interest into growth opportunities.
  • Strong IT literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Knowledge of British Values, PREVENT, and safeguarding principles within teaching and training.
