Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Community Engagement Officer to join our team and contribute to the success of our Multiply Contract initiative. The primary focus of this role will be to engage with local community groups across Kent, fostering relationships, and promoting participation in numeracy and budgeting courses under the Multiply Contract. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving referrals, organising and delivering courses, meeting targets, and providing essential support to learners. 

Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement: Proactively engage with local community groups, organisations, and stakeholders to promote awareness of the Multiply Contract numeracy and budgeting courses. 
  • Course Setup: Collaborate with community partners to organise and set up numeracy and budgeting courses in various localities across your region.  
  • Referral Management: Drive referrals onto the Multiply Contract program by effectively communicating the benefits of participation to potential learners. 
  • Enrolment and Documentation: Manage the enrolment process, ensuring all necessary paperwork is accurately completed and submitted within specified timelines and completing all eligibility checks as necessary.  
  • Targets and KPIs: Work towards predefined targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure successful course participation and completion. 
  • Course Delivery: Conduct short bitesize introduction sessions to familiarise participants with the course content and structure. 
  • One-on-One Support: Provide personalised support to learners through one-on-one sessions, focusing on improving numeracy skills and budgeting knowledge. 
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with learners, community groups, and partners to enhance program engagement and success. 
  • Data Reporting: Maintain accurate records of engagement, referrals, course participation, and learner progress for reporting purposes. 
  • Feedback Collection: Collect feedback from learners and community partners to continually improve course content, delivery, and overall program effectiveness. 

 

Education /Qualification 

Essential  

  • High level of literacy and numeracy  

Desirable  

  • Level 2+ IAG Qualification  

Skills and Experience

Essential 

  • Prior experience in community engagement, or transferrable skills to show experience with dealing with the public/community groups.  
  • Experience in delivering confidence-building sessions to groups of individuals and providing 1-2-1 support where necessary.    
  • Knowledge of the barriers to employment for our demographic of learners, and you can assist them in overcoming barriers to numeracy and building confidence.   
  • Experience in completing enrolment paperwork and signposting learners to appropriate pathways.  

Desirable, but not essential:

  • Delivering outcomes via a Multiply or similar contract.  

Additional Information

Salary: £26,000 per annum 

Location: Remote Kent & Sussex 

Contract:  Permanent - Full Time

Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:30
