Job Description

An experienced trainer to deliver regulated and non-regulated qualifications/training to our ESFA and DWP government-funded learners or other provisions where necessary.  

The delivery schedule is driven by our learner’s geographical locations; at present delivery is remote but will require travel to all of Twin sites across London and alternative Twin sites across our different regions in the Coast to Capital, Kent, Essex, that are hired to deliver the qualifications.  Due to this, home and lone working will be required. 

The role requires an organised professional with the ability to adapt to new environments, needs to be resourceful and able to work in a fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare lessons efficiently in order to conduct them competently. 
  • Create qualification assessment material to enable interactive and engaging delivery. 
  • Create schemes of work and lesson plans in accordance with the qualification specifications. 
  • Prepare educational material to assist with stretching and challenging the learning.  
  • Deliver and assess accredited and non-accredited qualifications according to the delivery schedule. 
  • Set and assess learner work product daily, ensuring feedback is provided in a timely manner. 
  • Keeping track of and maintaining records of participants’ attendance, participation and progress 
  • Complete course and contract-related administrative tasks to specified standards to enable funding to be claimed for each learner. 
  • Complete remedial actions identified by the IV promptly to ensure learner achievement performance is included in the given month. 
  • Be the programme lead for allocated qualifications, update teaching materials to keep it relevant and include any recommendations set by the IV or the EQA. 
  • Be prepared to deliver and assess across a suite of programmes as required. 
  • Manage the classroom effectively and challenge learners on attendance and punctuality in line with the policy. 
  • Substitute for other Trainers in case of their absence, as mutually agreed with the Trainer Team Lead. 
  • Be involved in Twin’s observation programme across all provisions. 
  • Be involved in standardisation meetings. 
  • Represent Twin at all times in a professional manner at all sites and any travel in between. 
  • Liaise regularly with the operational team, on learners’ readiness for progression into employment, and provide handover information to new or substitute trainers. 
  • Incorporate technology such as Whiteboards, tablets and smartphones into your teaching and use the interactive projector and Smart Notebook when scheduled to teach in a room with such facilities. 
  • Enforce the tidy desk policy in your classroom, including all sites hired for delivery and be responsible for the equipment provided. 
  • Abide by the copyright rules and always source material before photocopying. 

Education /Qualification 

  • Assessing qualification, TAQA, A1, or equivalent - Essential  
  • PTTLS, DTTLS or equivalent – desirable 
    • Occupational Competence in one or two of the following subject areas; Information, Advice & Guidance, Business Admin, Warehouse and Logistics, Hospitality, Essential Digital Skills and Health and Social. 
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics and English or equivalent - Essential

Skills and Experience

Essential 

  • Experience in delivering to post 16 – Essential. 
  • Experience in embedding British Values, PREVENT and safeguarding lessons - Essential. 
  • Experience in delivering Employability and L1 to L2 vocational qualifications – Essential.

Desirable, but not essential:

  • Knowledge of Awarding Organisations; Edexcel, NCFE, Ascentis qualifications – Desirable.
  • Experience of the welfare-to-work sector - Desirable. 
  • Experience of working within a business context – Desirable 
  • IT level 3 - Desirable

Additional Information

Salary: £26,000 per annum 

Location: Remote 

Contract:  Permanent - Full Time

Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:30
