The Engagement Officer works within the University Placements team to support, develop, and prepare engineering and science master students for their one-year industrial placement and future employment with cutting-edge employability skills. 

As an engagement officer, you play a pivotal role in providing administrative support to all project elements, and you are responsible for effectively contributing to the overall university placement programme.

Role Summary: 

Are you passionate about fostering international student success and professional development? We're seeking a dynamic Engagement Officer to join our team and play a crucial role in enhancing the student experience during their placement journey. This role will encompass the administrative and monitoring activities along with supporting on student and employer engagement activities for the projects.

Because of the cyclical nature of the cohort activities, responsibilities will sometimes include higher percentages of administrative tasks, which will remain a priority in the role.  This role requires time management, multitasking and initiative skills.  

Responsibilities

 Monitor and maintain records and appointments for students on placement. 

  • Conduct a half-yearly and end-of-placement survey of students and employers to evaluate student’s development and performance at work. 
  • Liaise with the students, university and employers in creating and processing 4-way agreements for January and September cohorts.  
  • Collaborate with MIS team in collecting the student’s feedback for workshops and other engagement sessions.  
  • Work alongside the employer engagement officer to vet companies and complete necessary records.
  • Assist students on their LinkedIn, job search and other placement-related concerns.  
  • Develop social media posts and case studies for promotion of programme with Technical Manager and marketing team.  
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to maintain statistics and facilitate in making data-driven decisions across the university and Twin records.  
  • Take initiative and ownership in developing strategies for enhancing the student engagement. 
  • Liaise with the university liaison officers and faculty members to regulate the processes to support students.  

Education /Qualification  

  • Degree or equivalent  
  • Information Advice and Guidance or Career advice experience 

Skills and Experience 

Essential 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including for non-native English speakers. 
  • Ability to work independently on own initiative. 
  • Ability to prioritise your own workload and complete tasks without supervision. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build a rapport with students quickly. 
  • Attention to detail and ability to work positively and proactively to resolve problems. 
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of  MS office and data management

Desirable 

  • Ability to adapt to changing guidance or circumstances. 
  • Experience working with international students, preferably at university level. 

Additional Information 

Salary: £26,000.00 per annum  

Location: Greenwich/Hybrid  

Contract:  Permanent - Full Time  

Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:30
