Job Description

JOB TITLE:                              VOCATIONAL ENGAGEMENT TUTOR   

SALARY:                                 £28,000pa     

LOCATION:                            Covering Either: Kent OR Surrey OR West Berkshire       

REPORTS TO:                        Delivery Manager   

RESPONSIBLE FOR:              No Staff Management  

LEVEL:                                    Experienced

This is a combination role in which you will both deliver vocational-based qualifications, and engage with learners and stakeholders, to manage referrals and enrol learners onto the government-funded programmes. The delivery schedule is driven by our learners ’ geographical locations; this role requires travel to all of our sites across your allocated region. Due to this, lone working will be required. The role requires an organised professional with the ability to adapt to new environments, is resourceful and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of the region Delivery Manager, develop relationships and networks with key stakeholders including employers, job centre teams, local authorities, and training providers to ensure the smooth operation of all processes
  • Use knowledge of employability contracts to manage referrals and complete all necessary paperwork to enrol them onto the appropriate pathway depending on their goals and aspirations.
  • Maintain paperwork and customer records to a required quality standard to ensure the customer journey is documented in accordance with our quality standards and relevant documentation upload to database from claim purposes
  • Prepare lessons efficiently in order to conduct them competently.
  • Deliver a range of vocational qualifications, alongside employability skills and programmes, in accordance with the schedule.
  • Set and assess learner work product daily, ensuring feedback is provided in a timely manner.
  • Complete remedial actions identified by the IV promptly to ensure learner achievement performance is included in the given month.
  • Monitor the learners’ progress throughout the course, against the criteria
  • Create schemes of work and lesson plans in accordance with the qualification specifications.
  • Prepare educational material to assist with stretching and challenging the learning.
  • Abide by the copyright rules and always source material before photocopying.
  • To provide accurate and timely formative and summative assessment and feedback to learners, and maintain assessment records, including tracking and reporting of learner progress in line with the organisation’s policy
  • Complete qualification administration to required standards for awarding body and verified by IQA/EQA
  • Engaging with quality management processes to ensure that teaching maintains Outstanding OFSTED standards
  • Assist with all other areas of delivery in your region as and when required

Knowledge/experience – Essential and Desired

Essential

  • Prior experience in delivering vocational qualifications such as Customer Service, Business Administration etc.
  • Familiarity with OFSTED's expectations for high-quality education delivery.
  • Experience in delivering employability sessions such as CV Writing, Interview Skills, etc.
  • Knowledge of the barriers to employment for our demographic of learners, and you can assist them in overcoming barriers and build confidence 
  • Experience in completing enrolment paperwork and signposting learners to appropriate pathways

Desirable

  • Delivering outcomes via an AEB funded contract

Education/Qualification – Essential and Desired  

Essential

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A1 Assessing or equivalent assessing qualification.

Desirable

  • Level 2+ IAG Qualification
