An experienced Nails Technician tutor to deliver regulated qualifications/training levels 1- 3. The nail technician’s role also involves promoting the training facility by engaging in external activities to support and promote business growth maximising funding opportunities through AEB and the Advanced Learning loans provision. They are responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning, at all times, by providing nail-care services that exceed client expectations ensuring housekeeping duties keep the salon organised, clean, in order to create a positive, conducive and highly effective learning experience for all learners. The role requires an organised professional with the ability to be adaptable, resourceful, and creative with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic manicure and pedicure services to clients and guests.
  • Build rapport with clients to retain them and maintain a full schedule.
  • Maintain and report schedule accurately to manager or supervisor, and perform all treatments required for the successful completion of the qualification.
  • Monitor and track learner registration and certification
  • Perform various professional nail services educating learners about individual nail care needs.

  • Perform nail services following established guidelines for the service offering and strive to fulfil expectations in the area of nail grooming, massage and exfoliation, and polish application.
  • Understand and use universal precautions when providing services, including assessing contraindications before commencing all treatments.
  • Ensure the sanitary of all equipment, cleaning and disinfecting all tools on a daily basis.
  • Maintain and increase knowledge of nail care for both hands and feet and possess a complete knowledge of all services offered.
  • Understand and educate clients on the ingredients and product benefits for their nail care where applicable.
  • Exhibit a professional and well-groomed appearance every time.
  • Answer guests’ questions/inquiries in a knowledgeable and professional manner
  • Promote other services by suggesting to guests’ other beneficial treatments.
  • Begin and end all treatments within scheduled timeframe, as well as recommend product for home use or self-care.
  • Maintain inventory and inform the ordering and and tracking of products needs in a timely following company process.
  • Accurately document treatment notes and maintain client cards when appropriate.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and professional trainings.
  • Safeguard customer experience and report any incidents or accidents to a member of the management team.
  • Prepare lessons efficiently in order to conduct them competently to meet level 1-3 standards.
  • Deliver and assess accredited qualifications according to the delivery schedule.
  • Deliver courses using a range of programmes including Microsoft Teams, incorporating technology such as tablets and smart phones into your teaching and using interactive online resources enabling the learner to develop their skills.

  • Complete remedial actions identified by the IV promptly to ensure learner achievement performance is included in the given month.
  • Monitor the learners’ progress throughout the course, against the criteria.
  • Create schemes of work and lesson plans in accordance with the qualification specifications.
  • Prepare educational material to assist with stretch and challenging the learning.
  • Be prepared to deliver and assess a suite of work skills specialist programmes as required.
  • Manage the class effectively and challenge learners on attendance and punctuality in line with the policy.
  • Regularly report back to your line manager, the attendance records throughout the course and submit information as required to the data team monthly.
  • Be involved in eTrainings observation programmes.
  • Be involved in standardisation meetings.
  • Attend CPD sessions.
  • Represent eTraining at all times in a professional manner at all sites and any travel in between.
  • Liaise regularly with Advisors on learners’ readiness for progression in to employment, provide handover information to new or substitute trainers.
  • Adhere to the tidy desk policy following all display screen assessment guidance and be responsible for the equipment provided.

Education /Qualification 

  • Assessing qualification, TAQA, A1, or equivalent - Desirable
  • PTTLS, DTTLS or equivalent – desirable
  • Level 4 Qualification in the sector - Essential

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in delivering to post 16 – Essential.
  • Experience of delivering Nail Technician Training at Level 3 – Essential.
  • Experience in delivering Employability/Vocational qualifications – Essential.
  • Knowledge of Awarding Organisations; Edexcel, NCFE, C&G qualifications - Desirable
  • Experience of the welfare-to-work sector - Desirable.
  • Experience of working within a business context – Desirable
  • Experience of embedding British Values, PREVENT and safeguarding to lessons - Essential.

Additional Information

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience  

Location: Remote / Greenwich

Contract:  Permanent - Full Time

Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:30
